$150.00

The German manufacturer for FINEDGE OSTISO N.Y.C. was Peter Altenbach & Söhne SCHWANENWERK (SWAN WORKS) in Ohligs-Solingen.  Finedge Ostiso brand razors were produced from 1921-1923.  Finedge was located at 116 Duane St New York City, owned and operated by Ralph Whitehead, president.  Finedge applied for patents to purvey all types of cutlery including shears, clippers, razors, butcher knives and pocket knives.

This razor is a beautiful piece of wet-shaving history nearly 100 years old today. The blade displays very little if any significant hone ware.  All rust was removed from the blade and after some meticulous work by hand and a great polish the steel has a high mirror finish.  Both stamps on either side of the shank are clear and detailed.

This razor was pinned and suited in its original scale set using new brass pins and thrust washers. The scales and pins were brought to a high polish to match the aesthetics of the razor.

This nearly flawless piece of history will arrive expertly honed, sterilized and shave ready.

Happy shaving!
