1940s/50s Sun Ray Hair Prep Co., Square Sun, German Razor

125.00

This beautiful straight razor was produced by the Sun Ray Hair Prep Co. in the mid 1900's.  This Square Sun razor was restored originally to preserve its historic value and utilize the original, funky yellow and orange celluloid scales and cream wedge which we absolutely love here in the Fretzwerks shop.

This lovely German blade was brought to a mirror polish and bears some deep patina to remind you that it's 60+ years old. The razor is a square point, great for trimming sideburns or shaving crisp edges on beards and goatees if one wears facial hair.  The grind quality is half hollow with a cutting edge of 2 and 6/8 inches and a blade width of 6/8 inches. The razor has very little hone ware.

The original celluloid scales are pinned with brass using large brass collar washers.  New thrust washers were installed for a smooth and tight action.

This and every razor arrive in your shave den sterilized and very shave ready.  We hope you enjoy this vintage piece of German wet shaving history as much as we do.  Happy shaving!
